"Raising the Rainbow Economy"
The mission of the Utah LGBTQ+ Chamber is to provide resources and improve the lives of LGBTQ+ and Ally business owners throughout the state. We are therefore excited to announce our very own, inaugural event, the Utah LGBTQ+ Economic Summit "Raising the Rainbow Economy."
To be held on Friday, September 27th from 8AM-2PM at the Salt Lake Community College Sandy Campus-Gail Miller Conference Center. The day will feature education, enlightenment and business development- oh and we will feed you coffee in the AM and lunch in the afternoon:). Whether you are an inspiring business owner, new business owner, or been in business 50 years, there will be a nugget or two for you to expand or start your business!
We are excited to kick start our event with SL County Mayor, Jenny Wilson. She will give us an overview and what's happening with business in the County.
All the way from Washington D.C.-We are excited to welcome Jason Rae from the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) who will educate us on how to procure more contracts from national suppliers with the LGBT Business Enterprise® (LGBTBE®) designation.
The afternoon will continue with the following topics: diversity and inclusion workforce best practices, social media management, employment specialists, funding opportunities for small businesses, the 10K Small business program our revamped SafeZone program and the newly formed LGBTQ+ Chamber Foundation.
We will end the day with none other than Utah native, Bobby Edwards, CEO of Squatty Potty! Bobby will share with us his pitch that won over Lori Greiner from the hit TV show, Shark Tank.
